General aim: Evaluation the allelic substitution effect for a number of polymorphisms on the composition of milk fatty acids

Main achievements of CRA-FLC:

  • Determination of the fatty acid composition of 490 samples of milk of three species (cow, goat, sheep) and different breeds within each species.
  • Elucidation of the possible pathway leading to the synthesis of CLA in milk by the evaluation of the influence of the considered polymorphisms on the cis/trans isomers in sheep milk fat
  • Discrimination and prediction of goat lactation stage by mean of fatty acid composition
